Pointe Animal Hospital
Greetings! Pointe Animal Hospital is a veterinary hospital located in Fenton, MI that provides a full range of services for all of your pets including: dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, and other pocket pets. We provide numerous services including (but not always limited to!): vaccines, heartworm testing and preventatives, flea and tick preventatives, prescription diets, spaying and neutering as well as other surgeries such as wound closures, mass removals, dental cleanings, and dog grooming.

Owner & Head Veterinarian

Dr. Chris grew up in Alpena, MI and graduated from Michigan State University in 2003. He worked at VCA White Lake Animal Hospital for over 11 years until buying Pointe Animal Hospital from Dr. Gary LaBar on April 1st, 2015. He currently lives in Milford with his wife Bridgette and 3 young sons. When he’s not at work he enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his family. Dr. Chris has a soft spot in his heart for Great Danes and other large breed dogs.
Clairissa Barz, DVM

Staff Veterinarian

Dr. Barz is from Cincinnati, OH and graduated from the Ohio State University in 2001. She has special interests in internal medicine, emergency medicine, and working with her favorite breed–dachshunds aka “wiener dogs”! She personally owns 5 dachshunds–Wiggles, Principessa, Cinco, Gidget, Mr. Peabody, and a munchkin cat named Grover (the wiener of the cat world). When Dr. Barz isn’t at work she loves spending time with her family, crafting, running, and traveling.

Office Manager

Lisa has 22 years of experience in the veterinary field. She started out as the practice manager and soon found herself wearing many different hats such as client care specialist and veterinary assistant. She loves working with animals all day and getting to know their owners as well. By her own assessment, she has the best job ever! She currently has 2 rescue pets: a dog named Daisy and a cat named Henry. She enjoys scrapbooking, movies, being outdoors camping, kayaking, and spending time with family.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Amanda is a licensed veterinary technician and earned her degree online through Penn Foster. She has worked in the field of veterinary medicine for the last 14 years and enjoys every day of it–especially working with the amazing team here at PAH. She has a chihuahua named Splinter and 3 cats–Shadow, Foo, and Steve. Amanda has special interests in dentistry and behavior and in her free time she enjoys camping and being with friends and family.

Groomer

Jillian has worked as a dog groomer at Pointe Animal Hospital since 2010. She has been a professional groomer for nearly 10 years after attending the Paragon School of Pet grooming in Jenison, MI and becoming a certified Master Groomer. She is devoted to the well-being of your pet and ensures that the health and safety of your dog is always the top priority when grooming. She has worked for several veterinarians during her career which has enabled her to broaden her knowledge-base and she looks forward to making your dog happy and beautiful.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Carrie is from Erie, PA and graduated from Penn State University with a BS degree in Animal Bioscience. She obtained her veterinary technology degree from Baker College and has worked in the veterinary field for 19 years. Carrie has 3 dogs–Wally, Noona, and Lulu and is a self-proclaimed microscope nerd. In her spare time she enjoys running, crafting, and baking delicious goodies for her co-worker family.

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Ashlei grew up in the state of New Hampshire and obtained her veterinary technology degree from Macomb Community College. She has been working in the veterinary field for the past 10 years and has 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 children. Her special area of interest is behavior and in her spare time she enjoys hiking and traveling. She is currently on a mission to visit all of the lighthouses in Michigan!

Melessa grew up in Milford, MI and is currently in the process of obtaining her veterinary technology degree from Macomb Community College. She has 7 pets including several dogs, cats, turtles, and a hamster named Oreo. She has a special interest in working with exotics and in her spare time enjoys scrapbooking and spending time at the lake. Her favorite thing about PAH is the people she works with and spending time with the pets that come to visit!
